Matidla 1.0 (2014)
Matilda considers the new Generation of ' Syntheic Intimacy Pleasure Beings'. Whenever a new form of technology emerges the Intimacy Industry is one of the forerunners to implement it for a hungry audience. With new forms of silicone, the industry are producing life size dolls that are becoming closer to having the look, feel, and texture of human skin. Increasingly these 'Synthetic Beings' are having electronic circuits embedded within them, with a vision to allow them to engage.
It is inevitable that this Industry will continue to boom. When all fantasies can be played out perfectly at will, what will become of human intimacy within romantic relationships. Will they lead to changes in how we view longterm cohabitant companionships. For future generations who arrive when Intimacy with the Synthetic is as natural as a leaf on a tree, will goal -- non/goal orientated procreation cease, will we look to alterior methods for ensuring our longevity as a race.
What would be the psychological impact of being a master to a slave. What would it do to the Human psychee. We can draw on the Impact of generations of slavery, and empiric colonisation for insight into it's affects. The idea of introducing selfless forms that answer our selfish desires may not create the future utopia we envisage.
