The proliferation of the Electronic screen and the Digital camera are unbounded. They increasingly become a reality of their own. In my practise I use Animation and Digital technology as an Analogous or Metaphorical medium for presenting my research into the extensional perceptions of a body in unlimited space. Between 2000 and 2007 Liminality became a key concept in my work, playing with the breaching of Thresholds, of opening up passages and places between Digital and Physical spaces.
Through extreme temperature changes a small handheld Canon Digital Camera was led into an altered state of functionality. As the camera thawed from its frozen tomb, and transitioned between redundant and vital states, I captured its Hypnogogic state, a place of flicker, abstraction, and distortion.
