Context
In the good ole days of the late 80's & 90's independent music experienced a real bloom of creative energy, in what many cite as a golden age. Following on from Punk, a series of new music forms evolved. The natural progression of disco to house and techno, the Boom Bap era of Hip Hop, the emergence of UK dub influenced music (have to mention pioneer Rob Gordonh here), such as Electronica, Drum & Bass, Trip Hop, Phat Jazz..the list is quiet lengthy. Everyone had a pair of 1210's back then, they were seen as the modern guitar. Thursdays & Fridays were when the white labels, and new releases dropped all over. Every week I would leave with a carrier bag of newnewss, to refresh my world. All these new arrangement sounded like the future. The emotions they conjured and the images they created in our imaginations made us feel like we were ahead of the rest of the world. |
Synopsis
Its 2217 and Synthetic Robotic Intelligence hasn't work out as expected. An unforeseen programming error in a experimental test algorithm mutated and spread. The creations deleted the internet and wiped out their creators by mistake. The robots now rust into infinity looking for meaning of their existence in the ether by acting out the rituals of their god, as described in the last physical human remnant; the journal of a former dj circa 1996. |
